i wanna know cause my account was hacked

and also, if the hacker can't login to my account, but has my access key can they use my character?

Wondering how you know you were hacked, however, no the cdkey is tied to the account now, if they attempt to use it to start another then they'll be met with a message somewhere along the lines of "this cdkey is already in service by another account", were there no account such as with an FPS then this line wouldn't be there.

Well, that is certainly odd then, since the cdkey would then be used and tied to the account, if you had an account using that cdkey before hand there shouldn't be a way for them to make a second account around it, sort of ruins the idea of cdkeys, I mean I know people who have four accounts for like DaoC to bot them around, mule, and spy on realms.

Perhaps elaborate then for a rep. of ArenaNet because I obviously wouldn't be able to help you.

There is no way to remove an access key from an account.

We can't really help you here either ways, please open a support ticket.

What i do recommend you is to scan your computer for keyloggers, otherwise i wouldn't know how you've gotten hacked. Unless you showed someone the e-mail you login with.

Once a key is used, it is consumed in the account creation. You cannot create another account using the same key.

You cannot remove it from an account.

You cannot get hacked and have it removed from your account.

Please try and explain your situation a little better. So far, you're not making much sense.

Are you sure you're trying to add the char at the right place?
As it is it looks like you're creating another account.

When you log in to your account, you should get a camp fire with your current character standing beside it. In the lower right corner there are two buttons, one which says "play" and another which says "Create" (or similar). If you click on "Create" you can add another character (up to a max of four) to your account....

You were using either a beta or preorder key not retail key, OR you tried to create a new account on another computer using the same key. If it's the former, I suggest you buy the retail, if it's the latter, then just put in your login email and password into the login screen then try that.

Okay. I think I am understanding a bit.

First: Your account cannot simply be hacked. You HAD to give someone your email and password, or someone who knows you well guessed it. Log into your account > go to Edit account and change your password Immediatly to something that is more difficult and tell no one. Also, You can change your email.

Second: Your CD Key, is tied to YOUR account. There is NO possible way to REMOVE an access number. You cannot select any of the keys listed, and also there is no "remove" selection. There is ONLY an option to add another one.

So - Your either trying to scam, or having a misunderstandig.

What you need to do, is either buy the full, retail version of the game. NOT the preorder beta game. Those accounts (if they werent merged with your retail CD Key) were blocked and closed. Once you have a retail version of the game - you will get a CDKey (on the inside of the disc case and you need to scratch it off). You simply log in >Edit account > Manage Keys > add the new one.

Now, if you already HAVE a retail game, and have your key. Just re-add it into your account. Even if your saying hackers DID remove it - still, there would be no way for them to find out WHAT the code is or to make a new account of it and "steal it" from you. The code is stored at ArenaNet in their accounting systems. You can only have ONE account per CD Key, and your account can be used on ANY computer anywhere. So if your trying to log in on say - your moms computer in another room. Use your same account there is no need to try and make a new one. If your trying to make your brother his own account, you will need a new CD Key and have to buy another version of the game.

Still, I hope I was able to help somewhat, as your story is a bit odd, and isn't making much sense. If still, you say nothing works. Then... Try convincing ArenaNet, as those would be the people you REALLY need to talk with. Because as I said... there is no way to remove a key from an account. Your screen shot of your content view prooves that. It is the exact same as mine, and I have my preorder and retail key entered. There is no sudden option to remove the key, nor it there any way to find out what the key code is.

It looks like you might be trying to add an account and NOT a chartacter. The add/delete/play character options come up AFTER you log into your account. What that picture was showing was that you were attempting to add another cd-key to your account. Of course you cant re-add it.. its already in use.. BY YOU!..

Someone else mentioned it.. Log in.. Look in the lower right of the campfire screen

Actually Ollaolas, as this is not my topic I can say I have never been hacked. I bought my game from a store here in the netherlands.

I would never want to buy one from ebay, especially not when there is a serial/key involded.

This thread is not the place to have an argument and pick holes in other people's spelling and grammar. Phantium correctly linked to the sticky here giving our forum rules on english and grammar- here's an apt quote from that thread on the subject:

i bought my CD Key off PlayNC.com
i didn't tell anyone my password, but i got a notice saying someone continually tried to login to an account i have at forum, so there may be a hacker after me
i can login to my account, as i changed the password to a random code
but when i login and i click Create to make a character the screen i posted an image of pops up
